To the editor: A funny thing happened on the way to Rep. Greg Walden being a 20 year — 10 term — incumbent: he became a Washington Bigshot, a real player. He chairs an important committee and had well over $3 million dollars in his campaign despite being what the professional consultants consider a safe district; courtesy, of course, of all those constituents of his who don’t live anywhere near Oregon. Presumably, it’s those other constituents who wanted him to not just support, but sponsor, a law that would have deprived over 100,000 people in his district of health insurance.

To the editor: Intelligent. Charismatic. Highly capable. Dedicated. There are words which come to mind when I think of Kathy Schwartz, and that’s why she will be getting my vote for Wasco County commissioner.
