Russell Peters drove in Isaac Anthony with a two-out, RBI double, Peters later scored on a passed ball, and Anthony retired the side in the bottom of the seventh inning to give the Dufur Rangers a 6-5 comeback win over Sherman Tuesday in Moro.
When a team finishes undefeated and wins a championship, the rest of the state takes notice. The Dufur Rangers won their fourth consecutive state title, 10th overall, and were rewarded with eight players on the 1A All-State squad, including Asa Farrell, Abraham Kilby and Russell Peters, who were selected for first team on both sides of the ball.
The Dufur Rangers capped Blue Mountain Conference baseball play with losses of 11-5 and 15-5 in Heppner Saturday to finish 0-9 in league action for the season.
