After back-to-back state quarterfinal appearances for the Hood River Valley boys soccer program, HRV was unable to advance to the quarterfinals of the 5A Boys Soccer State Championship this season. The Eagles were knocked out of the state tournament in the first round by the Churchill Lancers.
The Hood River Valley boys soccer team closed out its 2018-19 non-league schedule this past week with a road game versus La Salle Prep on Monday, Sept. 17.
Before last year, the Hood River Valley boys soccer program had won its season opening game for four straight seasons. But in the past two years, the boys have found themselves behind 0-1 heading into the second game of the season.

After an early season test against defending 6A state champions McMinnville two weeks ago, the Eagles were back in action on Tuesday as they traveled to Summit.
The HRV track and field teams both had a strong performance in the Viking Relays April 14 at North Salem High School. The teams combined for 15 top-five finishes as the 40 Eagle athletes faced tough competition among the 11 other 5A and 6A squads that participated in the meet.
It was chippy, it was physical, and it wasn’t pretty, but in a first-round matchup with Rex Putnam Wednesday night, the HRV boys soccer team continued to do what they’ve done all season: win.
