Tuesday’s one-run loss was frustrating for The Dalles baseball team. The Riverhawks had their 5-0 lead through five and a half innings erased, as Crook County rallied for two runs in the sixth and four in the bottom of the seventh inning, capped by a walk-off, two-out, bases-loaded double in a 6-5 final in Intermountain Conference play from Prineville.

Facing a high-powered Bend North offense, The Dalles 11U All-Star pitcher Cody Agidius had one of the best performances of his young baseball career. Agidius allowed three runs, two earned, on nine hits, with four strikeouts, two walks and a hit by pitch in taking the losing decision in a 3-0 final score Sunday in District 5 baseball action at Kramer Field.

Earlier in the season, Sherman seniors Trey Homer and Bradley Moe both agreed that the Huskies are far from a finished product. After Saturday’s two-game road sweep by scores of 6-0 and 12-5 at Culver, it appears that the No. 5-ranked Huskies are hitting their peak at the right time of the year with the No. 1 Blue Mountain Conference district seed and a state berth.
