After beginning the season with a win, The Dalles High Riverhawks (1-1) boys soccer team had hopes of making it two in row in a nonleague matchup Sept. 9 on the road against the No. 7- ranked Parkrose Broncos (1-1-1) in Portland. But the Broncos’ ball movement and more experience lineup were among the factors in Parkrose’s 1-0 win.

Ahead of last Friday’s road matchup versus Parkrose, the Hood River Valley football team was coming off a 46-0 road loss to the Pendleton Buckaroos (3-0).

The HRV girls basketball team snapped its four-game losing streak Tuesday night with a 39-34 win over David Douglas. Lindsay Benjamin led the Eagles with 15 points, while Becki Flory pitched in eight and Meghan Merz five. The Eagles sit at 5-9 in the conference with two games remaining.
