Lions trailers offer another option for recycling containers

LEOS continue to collect those bottles and cans that have a five cent refund value in the Rosauers parking lot the first Saturday of each month from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The student service group receives about 10,000 donated water, pop and beer containers per month — that’s $500 when they get the nickel refund for each bottle and can — but they would appreciate more.

As usual, the first Saturday of March had the Hood River Leos Club collecting deposit bottles and cans in the Rosauers parking lot. As they do on the first Saturday of every month, the Leos greeted the regular stream of cars whose drivers were bringing bags or boxes of empty containers.
