The consulting engineer preparing a swimming pool feasibility study for the City of White Salmon told the City Council last week that the Whitson Elementary School carpark site is a feasible location for a swimming pool.

Potential pool layouts for the lot east of Whitson Elementary were presented to White Salmon Valley school board members Thursday. No motion was made in regards to the designs presented.

The White Salmon Valley School Board took no action last Thursday following a presentation and discussion about School District-own-ed property that has not been previously studied as a site for a new city swimming pool.

The White Salmon City Council authorized putting the structural portion of the City Hall rebuild project out to bid last Wednesday, Aug. 5, by canvassing the city’s Small Works Roster.

Consulting engineer Mike Wellman delivered the initial draft of a feasibility study for White Salmon municipal pool improvements to the City Council on June 3, initiating a project review and selection process under the auspices of the council and city staff.
