The Hood River County History Museum is re-orienting following the loss of its executive, as is the Hood River Heritage Council — one board member stepped down citing a need to spend more time volunteering elsewhere, as well as “frustrations” with the council.

The Hood River County Museum is once again without an executive — the museum director was terminated the Friday before last.

After nearly a year in executive limbo, the History Museum of Hood River County found a new director in Megan Shuemate. The Wisconsin native comes to the job with enthusiasm, experience and a drive to put the museum back on the public radar.
