Last year, the boys lacrosse team started off on a roll, going on a 7-0 run to start the season before injuries and eligibility issues nearly bumped the team out of the state playoff tournament. This year, the team has started 1-2 and was missing several key players from Saturday’s nonleague game with Canby due to the same issues, and the Eagles lost 11-6 at home.
The past few years, the HRV boys varsity lacrosse team has been steadily improving.
The HRV boys lacrosse team’s season came to an end Friday night in Hillsboro, where the No. 17 Eagles fell 11-3 to No. 16 Glencoe in a first-round playoff game of the Oregon High School Lacrosse Association’s champion bracket.
It may not have been the way they originally expected to make it, but the Eagles officially qualified for the Oregon boys lacrosse playoffs, grabbing the penultimate spot available in the 24-team tournament.
