Competing against 14 other schools from Washington and Oregon, The Dalles track and field squad tallied a combined 30 personal records and the girls totaled 51.5 points for fourth place at the Kiwanis Twilight Invitational Friday in Hermiston.

Facing several big schools and tough competition from Oregon and Washington, The Dalles track and field team set 19 personal records and 12 season-bests at Saturday’s Willamette Falls Invitational in Oregon City. (Also covers Dufur.)

Already facing more than 3,000 of the best harriers, 10 Athletics East participants had to deal with high elevation, below freezing temperatures, snow and mud on Dec. 8 at the USATF National Junior Olympic Championships in Reno, Nev. As the program’s first team to compete on the national stage, this group finished 13th out of 19 teams.
