Regional history forums have been scheduled for 2016 at the Original County Courthouse, 410 W. Second Pl., located behind The Dalles Area Chamber of Commerce visitor center. Programs begin at 1:30 p.m. in the upstairs courtroom.

Historian Linda Wilson will present a program about the life longtime Wasco County resident and rodeo pioneer Blanche McGaughey Sammis on Saturday, July 13, at 2 p.m. at the main The Dalles-Wasco County Library.

“History from Below: Power to the People” is an interactive workshop that invites participants to explore the moments when passionate, principled or simply fed-up people from rural Oregon (Wasco County in particular) have banded together in hopes of changing the course of history at the local, state or national level.
