Letter to the Editor: Pool a community benefit

To the editor: (Edited for length.) I would like to ask the voters of the Northern Wasco County Park and Recreation District to vote yes to construct a new swimming pool. I manage the pool in Goldendale and I have had the privilege to work with and get to know most of the staff and lifeguards at your swimming pool.

Lifeguards honored after saving swimmer at pool

In the few minutes before the pool clears out after each swim session, Hood River Aquatic Center lifeguards are particularly wary of swimmers who have been in the water for nearly an hour, tiring themselves out.
