With nearly half the roster in attendance, The Dalles swim team shattered last year’s lap and money total at its fourth annual Dolphin Dive fundraiser event held on Monday, July 17, at the Ted Walker Memorial Pool in the North Wasco Aquatic Center.

When a community and its athletes collaborate for a common goal, great things can happen. The first sign of good things to come was in June of 2015, when the North Wasco County Aquatic Center opened a new pool, funded by a community bond. The pool replaced a landmark that has been a community swimming staple for the past 80 years.

Before the event kicked off Friday night, Kiteboarding 4 Cancer (KB4C) had already achieved a significant milestone, celebrating its 10th anniversary. But by the time the last kite had come back to shore at the Event Site, it was clear that KB4C had reached an even bigger one.
