Facing perennial powerhouse players from Summit and Bend, Tyler Vassar and Aidan Telles finished in a three-way tie for fourth place with 78’s, and The Dalles boys’ golf team totaled 351 to secure third place overall at the Bend Invitational Monday from Bend Country Club.
The Dalles golfer Tyler Vassar is familiar with taking home medalist awards, as he captured back-to-back Indian creek Invitational titles as a freshman and sophomore. Friday, he scored another medalist crown, but did so in impressive fashion with a one-under par 70, 12 strokes ahead of teammate Aidan Telles at the Riverhawk Invitational at The Dalles Country Club.
First-year varsity golfers Jonathan Snodgrass, Spencer Taylor and David Adams had a touch of nerves at the start of Thursday’s Big River Invitational. Snodgrass carded a 104, Taylor finished his tournament at 120, and Adams came through with his 124, to follow up Tyler Vassar, who placed second overall after a 76, and Aidan Telles placed third overall with his 81 to give The Dalles fourth place in Umatilla.
