South Wasco wins final regular-season game

The South Wasco County High Redsides (3-4) concluded the Special District 4 Class 1A six-man football season with a 53-16 road win over the Huntington Locomotives (1-6) Oct. 15 at Huntington High School. It marked the highest scoring game of the season for the Redsides.

Coming off a costly loss the previous week to the Crane Mustangs in which starters Josh Taylor and Kaleb Pence suffered injuries, the shorthanded Dufur High Rangers responded to the adversity in Class 1A Special District 2 eight-man football. The No. 8 ranked Rangers, guided by Coach Jack Henderson, regained their momentum with a 46-44 win over the Pilot Rock Rockets on Thursday at Pilot Rock High School.
