Hood River’s only full-size indoor “glow in the dark” 18-hole mini-golf course will open its doors again for the next three weekends.

A woodpecker works to excavate a potential nest hole in an oak tree on a ridge west of The Dalles, hammering free chips of wood and discarding them. Although only February, the bird appeared to be well along in the process, only its rump and tail showing as it worked loose new chips from inside the hole.
