Hospitalizations spiking in Gorge

Hospitalization rates are rapidly climbing in Oregon and in the Gorge as COVID cases spike. On Jan. 3, there were two people with COVID in the hospitals in The Dalles and Hood River, according to North Central Public Health District (NCPHD). A week later, on Jan. 10, there were 13.

A Veterans Listening Session/Resource Fair is planned Wednesday, Feb. 26, 5:30-7 p.m. Oregon Veterans Home, 700 Veterans Drive, The Dalles.

To the editor: Prior to the ACA, maternity coverage was rare and costly in the individual insurance market. If Congress drops the requirement to cover maternity, we will likely return to those bad old days. Rep. Walden is a leader in reform efforts, and will have an important say in whether families continue to have access to affordable maternity coverage.
