As the head coach for The Dalles Ski team and a parent of children who have participated in many school and community sports I would like to show my support for Ray Rodriguez. I have worked with Ray and observed him working hard to promote local athletic programs and athletes. Ray always shows support for the athletes in every program, whether they are state champions or struggling.
Yeah, yeah. I already know you’re going to ask me what shoes have to do with sharks and boats. Before we’re done here today, I’m absolutely certain I’ll have figured it out.
To the editor: “Horrified” is the only word to describe my reaction to the Chronicle headline “TD finds BB gun ‘no threat.’” Reading the text only worsened my horror. As the victim of a BB shot that nearly destroyed my eye when I was 9 or 10 years old, I think my reaction is understandable.
Ballot watchers will have their eyes on two close elections from the May 16 ballot: a two-vote margin between John Everitt and Svea Truax for Position 2 on the Port of Hood River Board of Commission, and a six-vote lead by Benjamin Sheppard over David Russo for Position 2 on the Hood River County School Board.
To the editor: You made a ghastly mistake in placing the dark black “Sex Abuser...’ headline above the picture of the honorable young man ( Fritz) who is battling Tourette’s syndrome, in your July 22 2015 issue. At first glance especially when the paper is folded, it looks like he is the perpetrator. What a thoughtless and inconsiderate layout.
To the editor: Did you see the front page headline of Time magazine titled “Can Hillary Be Stopped?” I say, tell the truth and Hillary won’t get started.
