To the editor: Recently, I have enjoyed the pleasure of attending several meetings and actions organized by civic-minded people in and around The Dalles. There is change in the air and it's good change, positive change: Like, breath of fresh air kind of change.

To the editor: After 20 years of endless gridlock in our federal forests, it's time to address the underlying crisis threatening the health of our rural communities and millions of acres of forests each year lost to wildfire by restoring active, sustainable management to these public lands.
