Today, I’m excited to share that this dream is within reach — funding is nearly 70% — and now is the time to jump in together and build the pool.
HOOD RIVER — The newly formed Hood River Valley Parks & Recreation Foundation (HRVPRF) is launching its first major initiative — a community-driven effort to raise funds for the purchase of 9 acres of land within the Hood River Urban Growth Boundary. This land acquisition would preserve the largest remaining natural open space within city limits and help finally complete the long-envisioned missing link of the Indian Creek Trail.

BINGEN — An anonymous local donor has offered up to $15,000 for others to match to support the work of Washington Gorge Action Programs (WAGAP) in Skamania and Klickitat counties. The offer is open through April and can support any of the agencies’ programs.
THE GORGE — On April 11, a unique and challenging fundrasier will take place along the Hood River waterfront to benefit the Columbia boys soccer program. Columbia High graduate Cheno Barajas is leading the efforts to bring attention to underserved athletes in the Gorge.

THE GORGE — If Columbia Gorge Dance Academy (CGDA) can raise about $800, student dancers will sport new, refurbished “The Nutcracker” costumes instead of deteriorating, 25-year-old finery for their annual holiday show — which is also a fundraiser, benefiting FISH Foodbank.
