To the editor: Jesus was a Jew. The word “Christian” is used twice in the New Testament, never by Jesus. Are Jews being persecuted? Only those who claim to be Jews and disobey God’s commands. But those who obey the laws are governed by God alone, and cannot be persecuted by anyone.
Law enforcement officers face potentially deadly challenges every day they are on the job. There is no such thing as “routine” in police work, and being prepared for the unexpected is standard operating procedure. Yet what former Wasco County Sheriff Art Labrousse encountered was truly unique, and there was no way to prepare for the bizarre situation he found himself having to contend with. Just three years before Labrousse was elected sheriff, Oregon had been invaded — literally — by members of a religious sect known as the Rajneeshees. The Rajneeshees had purchased a 64,000-acre property — called the “Big Muddy Ranch” — in southeast Wasco County, about 20 miles from tiny, rustic Antelope, Ore.
What is gospel grit you might ask? It’s the very essence of the Bible, according to pastor and author Dr. Randy R. Butler, who recently released “Gospel Grit; What Jesus Showed Us and Told Us While Backpacking Through the Wilderness.”
Don’t offer more than you can handle in the near future. Reneging on a promise will hurt your reputation and alter what’s offered to you. Love and romance should be your long-term goal. A healthy, happy domestic situation will make your life more fulfilling.
To the editor: I found a book on Muslims and their religion Islam. Very interesting how their religion follows so many others. Allah means God in their language, and Islam means submission to God. Mohammed respected the Jewish and Christian worship of God. Indeed any true follower of God. They don’t believe in graven images.
