To the editor: Sending armed forces halfway around the world to an unwinnable war against people that are “different,” race riots, killing black children with impunity, fire hoses, police dogs, guns drawn on unarmed protestors, police brutality, white on black murderers going free, show of military like force on home soil, on and on.

Santa Claus, joined by a group of youngsters from the lower White Salmon River Valley and members of the Husum Volunteer Fire Department, performs a customary unbuckling of a fire hose during a stopover on Dec. 3 at Klickitat Couty Fire District No. 3’s Husum Fire Station.
