New Marine Brayden Anderson is greeted with enthusiasm by his mother, Jennifer, and sister, Courtney, after three months of basic training that limited family communication. Anderson graduated from boot camp last Friday at Marine Corps Recruiting Depot in San Diego, Calif., with his family present.
To the editor: At the risk of stepping on somebody’s toes, I would like to respond to Sherry Bird’s March 11 letter regarding dogs in public places. I do not have a problem with that, if they behave well. But I had an incident at Home Depot where a dog on an extended leash came right up to my heels, and snarled at me. I did not know he was there and he scared the daylights out of me. They immediately jerked on his leash, but I thought I had been had — The Big One!
To the editor: The rules on service/companion dogs need some serious looking into. I am disgusted to see people taking complete advantage of the real reason people depend on their service animals.
To the editor: This is regarding all people who bash our city government and how the city is run. Seems most of those folks come from the other side of the river (Washington).
The recycling depot at the Mt. Hood Town Hall recently passed a major milestone. Upper Hood River Valley residents have recycled one million pounds of materials since its opening in 2006.
