The D21 board authorized staff last week to seek proposals from companies that could help in the search for a new superintendent.
Superintendent Candy Armstrong told the North Wasco County School District 21 board July 9 that staff would send out the request for proposals almost immediately. Proposals will be due July 31.
A detailed assessment of 15 buildings in School District 21 found many are in poor shape and warrant replacement, and most of the rest will move into that category in a few years. The high school had the worst ratings, with all three buildings on campus rated too poor to warrant repair.

The Wasco County Republican Central Committee held a D21 school board informational candidate forum at its monthly meeting in April. Eight of the 13 candidates for the non-partisan positions attended. The Chronicle is presenting their responses in a series of articles. Following are the statements of the three candidates for Zone 6, Trudy Lupkes, Cassie Ware and Jose Aparicio.
