To the editor: This letter is in response to Bill Davis’ letter in The Dalles Chronicle, June 24. He asks if Caucasians would be angry if the Washington D.C. football team changed its name to the the Pale Faces. He then mentions ‘’thin skinned’’ and political correctness. I’m not sure why he did not write Washington Redskins.

To the editor: If the Washington D.C. football team changed its name to the “Pale Faces” would Caucasians erupt in anger? Would they shed so many bitter tears they would need to wear galoshes?
