Mayor believes move was politically driven Correction An article on city water rates Wednesday, Oct. 29, incorrectly stated The Dalles City Councilor Dan Spatz was not present for Monday’s discussion and vote on water rates. He was at the council meeting but not at the urban renewal meeting that followed. Spatz seconded the motion to halve a series of water rate hikes, beginning with the one in 2014.
