The No. 1-ranked Huskies wrapped up a fifth consecutive Baker City trip with a 1-2 record, losing 59-52 Saturday versus Damascus Christian to secure sixth-place honors at the 1A state playoffs.

MORO – While everyone outside their locker room had doubts as to how realistic any Baker City berths were at the start of the season, the Sherman Huskies held steadfast to the belief that anything was possible as long as they put in the work and stayed united. That extra drive was all they needed to pick up a fifth consecutive trip to Baker.

MORO – The No. 1-ranked Sherman Huskies scored 73 points in two district games last weekend in Madras and could not get their shots to fall. Tuesday was a different story, however. Luke Martin and Caleb Fritts combined for 33 points, the Huskies had four players hit double figures and they nearly matched their two-game district total in a 66-44 state sub-round home romp against North Clackamas Christian Tuesday in Moro.

MORO – As the wins pile up and the Sherman Huskies continue to coast through their Big Sky Conference schedule, head coach Gary Lewis knows that his group is inching closer to its peak level. The No. 2-ranked Huskies won their ninth straight Big Sky Conference game, 13th overall, in a 71-26 blowout victory over South Wasco County Saturday in Moro.
