Hood River Valley High School girls cross country team waves as they head up Oak Street Wednesday in a parade through town to celebrate the team’s State 5A championship on Nov. 3.

A total of 25 teams in both 5A and 6A from around the state, including the Hood River Valley girls and boys cross country teams, were in Eugene Sept. 15 for the Northwest Classic meet to preview what will be the state meet course at Lane Community College.

After sweeping the Ultimook Race Nike Invitational to open the month of September, the Hood River Valley cross country team had another impressive performance last weekend at the Intermountain Conference Preview meet.
