The Hood River toll bridge was shut down for a time Wednesday night after the Klickitat County Sheriff’s office dispatch received a bomb threat by phone. In a call at 10:11 p.m., the caller told the dispatcher a bomb would detonate on the bridge in 20 minutes, then disconnected. The bridge is owned by the Port of Hood River.

SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) — A man who almost killed himself in an explosion three years ago was sentenced to 12 years in federal prison for making a bomb and attempting to help terrorists.
