TD netters lose in five to Hermiston

With a chance to pull off the season sweep against Hermiston, The Dalles volleyball team led 2-1 in the match, but could not hold on, losing the next two sets in a five-set loss Tuesday in Hermiston. TD remains one game ahead of Hermiston for the third and final playoff slot.

Letter to the editor: Great play place

To the editor: I love Sorosis Park because even when it’s crowded, the path around its perimeter never is. The layout seems to handle many people doing many things: walking, jogging, playing disc golf, enjoying the playground, barbecuing, celebrating birthdays, lovers lying about on the lawns, Little League baseball games, big league baseball games, soccer, sitting on benches watching the clouds play around Mt. Hood, or the river shimmer in the sun.
