The Next Door’s two youth mentoring programs, Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) of the Columbia Gorge and Mentor for Success (MFS), will merge under a new name, Gorge Youth Mentoring, next year. The new program will continue providing Gorge youth ages 6-21 with caring adult mentors, according to a Next Door press release.

Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) of the Columbia Gorge hosts an annual Mentor Appreciation event each year to say thank you to volunteer mentors (“Bigs”) for everything they do for children (“Littles”) in the program. This year, the event took place at Clock Tower Ales in The Dalles with approximately 30 attendees.

Bowl for Kids’ Sake (BFKS), Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Columbia Gorge’s largest fundraiser of the year, takes place March 12, and Hood River Match Coordinator Justine Ziegler says now is the time to form teams and commit to sponsorships.
