Mt. Hood Ski League action continued on the slopes of Mt. Hood Meadows last weekend, where the resort’s grooming staff has done a commendable job keeping courses up-to-speed despite an extremely limited snowpack.

Lucy McLean continued her run of dominance in high school ski racing last weekend with another first place finish in Mt. Hood Ski League slalom action Sunday at Mt. Hood Meadows. The win — her fourth consecutive first-place finish this season – propelled the Hood River Valley High School varsity girls ski team to an overall win for a third straight time.

Lucy McLean successfully defended her (unofficial) title as “Queen of the Cato Race” Saturday at Timberline Lodge, where the Hood River Valley High School senior blew away the competition to win the varsity girls race for a fourth consecutive year. Also defending his title, senior Austin Keillor posted the fastest time of the day to win the varsity boys race for his second year.

Fast and furious was the theme for Hood River Valley High School ski team this weekend in the team’s second race of the season; and much like the first (Jan. 4 Cato Race), Austin Keillor and Lucy McLean had unbeatable performances that brought individual top honors and propelled both varsity boys and girls teams to top finishes.
