On Saturday, Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia was laid to rest and millions in this nation mourned his passing, particularly conservatives who shared his ideological viewpoint. No matter what side of the political fence Americans stand on, respects are owed to the man who became the longest serving justice in modern history.

WASHINGTON — In a major victory for gay rights, the Supreme Court on Wednesday struck down a provision of a federal law denying federal benefits to married gay couples and cleared the way for the resumption of same-sex marriage in California.
