HRV wrestling wrapped up its season this past weekend at the OSAA State Wrestling Championships in Portland at the Veterans Memorial Coliseum.

HRV wrestling had their biggest weekend of the season this past weekend, with a thrilling home dual matchup against Bend on Jan. 19. The following day, Jan. 20, the team hosted its annual Elks Tournament. Against Bend, both the boys and girls were victorious against the Lava Bears.

Before the HRV wrestling team traveled to Redmond for the Oregon Classic on Friday, Jan. 12 and Saturday, Jan. 13, the boys had a meet on the road versus Mountain View for the Grapple for the Griffin trophy on Thursday, Jan. 11.

The 2016 Oregon girls wrestling national team just finished a successful training camp at Hood River Valley High School and are headed to Fargo, N.D., to compete in the USA Wrestling High School Freestyle National Championships.

HRV wrestling received the same place they did last year at the Special District 4 tournament, but this year, the team will be sending even more athletes to the state championship.
