Expansion planned for Klindt Cove park

The Port of The Dalles will increase the size of Klindt Cove Kiwanis Park by another 1.25 acres, expanding onto an adjacent lot to the west. Kathy Norton, assistant to the port director, said the upcoming development calls for additional parking, a walking path, heating for the restrooms, landscaping of the new lot, and a butterfly garden.

It was a brand new system five years ago, but as technology has advanced, the Google-financed free Wi-Fi system in The Dalles needs an upgrade to keep it running efficiently.

By the end of April, 8.25 million square feet of free wi-fi coverage will be available through 77 access points in The Dalles and work continues to strengthen the system.
