The Moshi-based Tanzania tour operator reports an 88% summit reach rate and recognition from independent travel platforms.

MOSHI, Tanzania, Sept. 15, 2026 — Almighty Kilimanjaro is marking 12 years of guiding international climbers on Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest mountain and the world’s tallest free-standing mountain.

Founded in 2014 by Tanzanian tourism professional Rashid Damsoni, Almighty Kilimanjaro is a locally owned trekking and safari company based in Moshi, in Tanzania’s Kilimanjaro Region. The company specializes in guided Mount Kilimanjaro climbs, Tanzania wildlife safaris, cultural experiences and Zanzibar excursions.

Over more than a decade of operations, Almighty Kilimanjaro has developed a range of guided Kilimanjaro treks across the mountain’s established climbing routes. These include the Lemosho Route, Machame Route, Marangu Route, Rongai Route and Shira Route.

Each Kilimanjaro route offers a different combination of trek length, scenery, trail traffic, accommodation and altitude profile. Climbers can select an itinerary based on their available time, previous trekking experience and preference for a faster or more gradual ascent.

“Twelve years on Mount Kilimanjaro have taught our team that choosing the right route is just as important as physical fitness,” said Rashid Damsoni, founder and owner of Almighty Kilimanjaro. “Reaching Uhuru Peak requires patience, careful preparation and a measured pace. Our guides focus on monitoring every climber and making responsible decisions throughout the trek.”

An 88% Kilimanjaro Summit Reach Rate

Almighty Kilimanjaro reports that 88% of its guided climbers reach the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro. The company attributes this summit reach rate to route planning, experienced mountain guides, steady pacing, daily communication and close attention to how individual climbers respond to altitude.

Uhuru Peak, situated on the Kibo volcanic cone, rises to 5,895 meters, or 19,341 feet, above sea level. Although climbing Kilimanjaro does not normally require technical mountaineering equipment, altitude remains one of the most significant challenges facing trekkers.

Fitness alone does not determine how a person will respond to high altitude. A gradual ascent gives the body more time to acclimatize, while guides must remain alert to signs of acute mountain sickness and changes in a climber’s condition.

7 Days Lemosho Route Supports a Gradual Approach

Among the company’s most requested itineraries is the 7 Days Lemosho Route, which approaches Mount Kilimanjaro from the west.

The Lemosho Route is known for its varied landscapes and comparatively gradual approach. Climbers travel through rainforest, heath and moorland before crossing the Shira Plateau and joining the southern circuit beneath Kibo. The route continues toward Barafu Camp, the base for the final overnight ascent to Stella Point and Uhuru Peak.

Spending seven days on the mountain provides more time for altitude adjustment than shorter Kilimanjaro climbing schedules. The itinerary also allows trekkers to experience several of the mountain’s ecological zones while progressing toward the summit at a controlled pace.

The company recommends that prospective climbers consider more than the number of days when comparing Kilimanjaro routes. Daily elevation gain, sleeping altitude, trail conditions, physical preparation and guide support all influence the climbing experience.

Recognition Across Independent Travel Platforms

Almighty Kilimanjaro has developed a substantial presence on international travel and tour-review platforms. TourHQ currently ranks the company No. 2 among more than 440 tour companies in Moshi, while TourRadar includes Almighty Kilimanjaro in its list of the 10 Best Tanzania Tour Companies and Operators for 2026–2027.

The operator has also accumulated hundreds of traveler reviews across TourRadar, Tripadvisor, SafariBookings and Google. Reviews frequently discuss the work of its mountain guides, porters, cooks, safari guides and trip-planning team.

For Damsoni, the company’s anniversary recognizes the local crews behind each Kilimanjaro expedition.

“Every successful trek is the result of a complete mountain team,” Damsoni said. “Our guides lead the climb, but our porters, cooks and support staff make the entire journey possible. This milestone belongs to all of them.”

Kilimanjaro Climbs, Tanzania Safaris and Zanzibar Tours

Beyond Mount Kilimanjaro, Almighty Kilimanjaro arranges wildlife safaris across Tanzania’s Northern Safari Circuit. Destinations include Serengeti National Park, Tarangire National Park, Lake Manyara National Park and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.

Travelers can also combine a Kilimanjaro climb or Tanzania safari with excursions and beach stays in Zanzibar. These combined itineraries allow visitors to experience Tanzania’s mountains, wildlife, local culture and Indian Ocean coastline within one trip.
