William Warren Mitchke passed away at his home in Maupin, Ore., on April 14, 2018, after an extended illness. He was born in Helena, Mont., to William W. and Elizabeth Williams.
Bill served in the U.S. Air Force in Germany for three years as a radar operator. He also boxed while serving and participated in a tournament in South Africa.
Bill graduated from Carroll College in Helena, with a bachelor of arts in English and taught high school English in Montana and at Wasco County Union High School in Maupin. He loved Gonzaga basketball, was a member of the Bulldog Club, and attended many games over the years.
He is survived by three sisters, Beverly Dunbar, Jane Forster, and Shelley Clarkson; many nieces and nephews; and his wife, Jennifer Brittain Mitchke, of 46 years, 8 months.

A Memorial Service will be held May 5 at 2 p.m. at Maupin High School.
