Wanda Faye (Hodges) Phipps was born on November 9, 1948. Wanda was the daughter of Ferba L. (Bell) Hodges and Henry Hodges. She passed away January 25, 2016 at the age of 67.
Wanda was born in Boynton, Oklahoma. In 1967, she married Fred Phipps in Union Gap, Washington. She was a hotel keeper during her husband’s enrollment in the military. Wanda and Fred moved to The Dalles, Oregon in 1971. She worked as a caretaker for the elderly, and in the restaurant industry and later as a stay at home Mom. She enjoyed the relationships created during years participating in bowling and pool leagues.
She was a devoted wife of 48 years, a loving mother, willing listener, guiding supporter, and provider for countless others. Her sassy, no nonsense attitude was openly appreciated because it was always inspired by love. Whether for family, as a friend, or second mom, she touched so many lives without ever asking for anything in return.
She is survived by her husband, Fred, two sons, Tony and Bob, granddaughter Jamie, and siblings, Juanita Beebe, Betty Prante and Bryan Hodges. She was preceded in death by her Mother, Father and brother Leon Hodges.
At her request, there will be no funeral or memorial service.
