Born January 15, 1939 in Sparta, Illinois to Alvina Schroeder and Floyd Morris.
The family moved to Chester and he attended St. John's Lutheran School until moving to The Dalles, Oregon in September 1948. He attended Court Street School, Whittier and The Dalles High.
In September 2000 he married Cherry Nelson. They liked to go to the Snake River area to fish and also made many trips to the Oregon Coast. They always had their most loved dog 'Duke' with them.
He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in The Dalles. He belonged to The Dalles Eagles and was a charter member of the Moose Club. He was also, a very 'social member' of Zim's in the mornings and Bar-b-que in the afternoons.
Preceding him were: his mother, Alvina Morris Bennett in 1995, his wife Cherry in June 2013 and his faithful friend 'Duke' in August 2013.
He is survived by a sister, Laura Comini and children, Ron and Angie: his brother and sister-in-law, Bernie and Janice Morris and children, Gay Dell, Debbie and Matthew: step daughters, Sandra Hermann of Wasco and Donna Sherbondy of Idaho and their families. Also, Schroeder and Morris relatives in Illinois.
Services will be held Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at 11:00 am at the I.O.O.F. Threemile Cemetery followed by a Memorial Service at Noon at the Moose Lodge.
