Tyler James Fisher died accidently in Portland on May 15, 2014. He is survived by his father, Michael March Fisher and his mother, Vandi Kaye Ellett Fisher, and his only sibling, a sister, Rachel Lee Fisher. Other survivors include his aunt, Sue Fisher Clarke and her two sons, Kevin and Bryan, Phoenix, Arizona, his uncle Tom Fisher, Las Vegas, NV, Quinn Fisher, Honolulu, Hawaii, and his much loved Grandfather, Harry Alsentzer, Ocean City, New Jersey.
Locally he is survived by his Uncle Vance Ellett, Linda and two cousins, Lindsey and Annalise, an Uncle Victor Ellett and a cousin Austin Ellett (of Colorado), his Aunt Vickie Ellett and Tyrell Edling, and Loretta Stout Ellett.
Tyler was preceded in death by his Grandfather, James M. Ellett of The Dalles, Oregon, and his Paternal Grandmother, Lee Fisher Alsentizer of Ocean City, New Jersey. Tyler Fisher is also survived by his adored surrogate parents Dr. Rick and Pat Weidenaar, Bush Prairie, Washington, his best friends Avery Collera, Australia, Paul Walters and Nick Weidenaar of Portland.
Tyler Fisher attended Prairie High School and graduated from Camas High School where he played football for both schools. After graduation he went to Saddleback Community College, CA, and then to Southern Oregon State College, Ashland, again playing football for both college teams. Currently Tyler was enrolled at Portland State College in the graduate business and transportation programs.
Tyler began modeling for Fred Meyer and Columbia Clothing at age 9 and had continued working to date. He introduced himself to “Ma” Boyle and declared her ‘sweet’. Lately his shows were mostly with Addidas and Nike. His favorite work was in California on the beaches, a week in New York City for an exercise video for Nike, and a week in North Carolina for Champion Sportwear. This month he was chosen as a sports fit model for Nike and was looking forward to that filming.
In 2012 Tyler was filmed in a TV production in Seattle for a true documentary, a re-enactment of an old murder. Tyler particularly appreciated the stage and camera crews work, and learned a lot from them and was grateful when they shared their time, help, meals, taxi rides, and advice with him. He was especially appreciative of Molly, his agent, and the cvrews at Nike which have been so supportive of him for many years.
Tyler enjoyed snowboarding, fourwheeling and hunting wild pigs with his Uncle Vance at Kent, Oregon, body surfing with his dad, Mike, boating and camping on the river, synchronizing the annual July 4th fireworks with his buddies, which was hosted by the Weidenaar family, and talking all night with anyone. He collected shoes and vintage clothing.
A celebration of Tyler James Fisher is being planned for late summer.
