Sharon Barrier of Prineville, Oregon, went to be with our Lord and savior on Saturday, January 12, 2019.
She loved her Lord and her family and was very proud of all of them.
She worked over 30 years at Stadleman’s Fruit Company in The Dalles, Oregon. She loved the outdoors and fished often with Maynard. She also enjoyed composing poetry and continued writing poems even after retiring and even in the retirement center.
Sharon was a vital, active woman all her life. She taught her fellow residents how to play pool, started the monthly pot luck for the retirement center and even began piano lessons at the age of 81.
She is survived by her children, Connie Barrier-Brueser of Utah, Bill Barrier of The Dalles, Scott Barrier of Kalispell, Montana and Candi Agee of Prineville, Oregon; nephew, Rodney Peterson of The Dalles (whom she referred to as her sixth child); grandchildren, Philip Barrier, Carrie Barrier, BJ Barrier, Nedra Gee, Nellie Miller, Nicholas Watts, Nicole Simpson, Daniel Barrier, Nicholas Barrier, Jeremiah Barrier, Zac Barrier, Malissa Barrier; great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren; sister, Coetta Schuler of Bend, Oregon; many nieces and nephews and her husband, Maynard Barrier.
She was preceded in death by her father, Clarence Rice, mother; Nedra Evans-Rice; daughter, Tammy Barrier; sisters, Luvilla Sonstegard and Anita Boyer.
There will be a graveside service in Mosier, Oregon, on Friday January 18, 2019, at 11:30 a.m. with a luncheon reception to follow at the Mosier Grange.
