Funeral homes often submit obituaries as a service to the families they are assisting. However, we will be happy to accept obituaries from family members pending proper verification of the death.
Robin Elizabeth McReynolds Gutzler was born on Oct. 17, 1973, to John and Joan McReynolds. She grew up on the family farm in Bakeoven, nestled between her older sister and younger brother as the middle child. Those early years on the farm helped shape her love of the land, family, and community.
It was in Bakeoven that Robin first met her future husband, Jeff Gutzler. Although life took them down different paths for many years, circumstances eventually brought them back together. Following the passing of their parents, the way finally opened for their long-awaited marriage in September 2015.
Robin spent several years working alongside Jeff on his farm, contributing her steady presence and willing hands. When her health began to fail, Jeff cared for her faithfully, honoring the vows they had made to one another. Robin passed away on Dec. 8, 2025, surrounded by love.
She is survived by her brother and sister, as well as numerous cousins and their families. Robin was laid to rest in Kelly Cemetery in Maupin, Oregon — close to home, and as close as she could be to the place and people she cherished.
May her memory be a blessing to all who knew her.
Spencer, Libby and Powell Funeral Home is in care of arrangements.
