The beautiful life of Miss McKenzie Brooke Ellingsworth will be celebrated Saturday, July 28, 2018, at 2 p.m. at Gateway Church, 1111 Dry Hollow Road, The Dalles, Ore. Pastor Don Harris will be officiating.
McKenzie was born in The Dalles on Oct. 30, 2008, the cherished daughter of Darrell Ellingsworth and Bethany Ellingsworth. She went on to be with Jesus on Saturday, July 21, 2018.
McKenzie’s life was a miracle from the beginning. She lived! She then surpassed all expectations, such milestones as sitting, laughter, crawling and the use of sign language. The deep tender connection between Kenzie and her mother, father and loved ones was truly special to behold. Such love! She was a treasured member of her church family. Kenzie loved playing with her cousins. She most enjoyed her bead mazes, playing catch and her little piano. She favored Justin Bieber’s music and happily clapped along to children’s songs. She loved her school, teachers and her special friends. Kenzie’s random burst of laughter drew joy from all hearts surrounding hers.
The Challenger baseball team was a huge source of family fun.
McKenzie overcame much in this life, inspiring huge love, joy and devotion. She enriched the lives of her family and friends beyond measure. With grateful hearts, we thank the Lord for the sweet gift of a beautiful baby girl, most beloved, McKenzie Brooke!
She is survived by father, Darrell; mother, Bethany; grandparents, Steve and Carol Adkison; grandmother, Mary Smith; great-grandparents, Paul and Barbara Adkison; and Lewis Johnson; aunts, Heather and Katie; uncle Dan; cousins, Izzy, Kyleigh, Landon, Tristyn, Allie and Maddie, all living in The Dalles.
She was preceded in death by her great-grandmother Dorothy.
