Maurice Clair “Mick” Danielson of The Dalles, Ore., passed away on Friday, March 23, 2018, at the Oregon Veteran’s Home in The Dalles. Mick was born on June 5, 1934, in Upland, Neb., and was 83 years old. He was the oldest of five children born to Kenneth and Gertrude Danielson. He grew up in Nebraska on the family farm until he graduated from high school.
In 1951, while visiting relatives in Oregon, Mick, met his love of 61 years, Beverly “Pam” Danielson. They married on May 27, 1956, in Portland, Ore. After the wedding, Mick and Pam moved to Nebraska while he was in the Army. During his time in the military, Mick served as a helicopter and aircraft engine mechanic from December 1956 to December 1958. In February of 1959, the couple welcomed their first child; Jeffery Scott, who was later followed by their daughter, Felicia.
Mick loved spending time with friends and family, traveling with his wife and woodworking. As a carpenter, he brought the most amazing things to life, including Christmas ornaments and beautiful homes. He enjoyed all things western and greatly enjoyed his time with all the folks from the cowboy shoots in Wallowa, Ore. Mick also had a lifelong love of horses and wiener dogs.
Mick was a beloved father, papa, brother and friend. He will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. We will cherish all of our wonderful memories that we were able to share with him.
