Linda Jean (Couch) Hall, passed away at the age of 63, in Maui, Hawaii on August 5, 2014, where she was vacationing with her sister and a good friend.
Linda was born in Hayward, California, on December 3, 1950, to Jean (Taylor) and Joe Couch. Linda was the first of four children in the Couch family. Linda graduated high school at Eisenhower High School in Rialto, California, in 1969, however she attended The Dalles High School prior to graduation and always considered The Dalles her High School home. After high school graduation Linda attended the Northwestern College of Business where she graduated with a Business Degree. Linda’s path led her on many careers, but her love was being a stay at home mom. She was an amazing cook and loved to spend time creating meals for her family. She also was a very generous woman who enjoyed finding little gifts for her family and friends.
Linda married Alan Dahl in 1978. Together they had 2 daughters Brandy Jean and Brooke Alana. They were later divorced. In 1985 she met her second husband Ed Hall. They moved to Bethany Missouri together in 1986 and were married in Missouri in 1987. Together they raised Brandy and Brooke as a family along with her first husband Alan. Family was always important to Linda.
Linda and Ed moved back to The Dalles in 1999 to be nearer to their parents. Ed became an over the road truck driver and Linda enjoyed riding along with him and seeing the country she loved. She also loved old movies; particularly Gone with the Wind, Elvis, and anything purple. She developed a love for Texas Hold’em Poker while playing in games with her family. She played Texas Hold’em in the local games whenever she and Ed came to The Dalles. She even joked about being a “professional poker player” because she had “cashed” in many games.
Besides her husband Ed, Linda’s biggest loves were her family, her daughters, siblings, and parents were very important. As well as her dogs Gable, Trucker, and Donner.
Linda is survived by her husband of 27 years, Ed, and her 2 daughters Brandy and Brooke, as well as her surrogate daughter RoyceAnne Peterson, Ex husband Alan Dahl (Sharon), siblings Larry Couch, Wanda Kelsey (Dave), and Brenda Jenkins; Nieces Anita Arguello (Justin), and Carrie Kelsey; Nephews Michael Couch, Matthew Couch, Mitchell Jenkins, and Sam Kelsey; as well as Grand Niece Ivy Arguello and Grand Nephews Taylor Couch, Eli Arguello, and Justin Arguello jr and numerous cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends who will miss her greatly.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents.
A celebration of Linda’s life will be held on September 13, 2014, at 11:00 am, at the First Christian Church, 909 Court Street, The Dalles, OR.
