Leslie B. Gardipee, Sr., 87, a resident of The Dalles, Ore., died Sunday, October 11, 2015 at a local care center.
Leslie was born November 7, 1927 in Cle Elum, Wash., the second of two children to George and Lula (Vader) Gardipee. He was raised and educated in The Dalles, Ore., and then served in the Merchant Marines and Air Force during World War II. On February 4, 1947 he and Clara Deller were married in Kansas City, Kan. Leslie worked for Martin Marietta until his retirement in 1985.
He enjoyed rock hunting, hunting, fishing and casino gambling.
Leslie was preceded in death by his wife Clara and sister Henrietta Greiner.
He is survived by three sons, Les Gardipee, Jr. and his wife Kathy; Steve Gardipee and David Gardipee and his wife Cindy, all of The Dalles, Ore. Seven grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren also survive.
Visitation will be held Thursday, October 15, 2016 from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM at Spencer, Libby and Powell Funeral Home followed by private Graveside Service at 11 A.M. at the I.O.O.F. Threemile Cemetery.
