June Johnson, age 98, of Clarinda, Iowa, entered into peace Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at Westridge Care & Rehab Center, Clarinda, Iowa. A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. April 27, 2015 at the Calvary Baptist Church, Clarinda, Iowa. Burial will be in the Shearer Cemetery, Braddyville, Iowa. A memorial will be established. June Rosina Johnson was born July 13, 1916 at Prescott, Iowa to Charles Fredrick Walter and Emma Louise (Moser) Walter. She grew up in the Prescott area. She moved to Braddyville, Iowa when she was 22 years old where she met and married Bob Johnson. They were united in marriage June 24, 1943 at her parent’s home near Braddyville, Iowa. They were blessed with four children, Robert, William, Daniel and Ruth.
June was a teacher in rural Star School. After the war, they moved to Oregon and lived there fifty years, in Klamath Falls and Tygh Valley. June taught school in Wamic, Oregon. They had a wonderful life with many dear friends.
June was a kind, gentle and fun loving person with a strong Christian faith and was treasured by her loving family and friends.
Preceding June in death were her parents; husband, Robert Allen Johnson; grandson, Steven Charles Johnson: brothers, Alfred Walter, Russell C. Walter, Clair Walter, Fred Walter, Earl “Ray” Walter; sister. Dorothy Van Pelt;
Left to treasure her memory are her children, Robert C. Johnson and wife Lois of East Bernstadt, Kentucky, William C. Johnson and wife Maria of Westminster, Colorado, Daniel Johnson and wife Lillian of Winslow, Arizona, Ruth Ann Welch and husband Gerard of Portland, Oregon; along with grandsons and great grandchildren and many nieces; nephews and friends.
