Jay W. Myers, 66, a resident of Wamic, Oregon died Wednesday, February 3, 2016 in The Dalles, Oregon.
Jay was born February 14, 1949 in Oregon City, Oregon, the second of three boys born to Wesley and Thelma (Worley) Myers. He was raised and educated in Oregon City. Jay served in the U.S. Army from 1967 to 1969 and was the recipient of the Purple Heart.
On September 21, 1974 he and Sandra K. Evers were married in Gladstone, Oregon. Jay worked as a road inspector for Clackamas County prior to retirement. He resided in Wamic, Oregon from 1981 until 1996 and then moved back in 2001. His passion was hunting.
Jay is survived by his wife of forty-one years Sandi; daughter Jessica Burgener (Jeff) and son Mathew Myers (Kristina Wilson) all of Wamic, Oregon; step-father Grant Marchant of Oregon City, Oregon; brother Ron Bradshaw (Nancy) of Florida and brother Carey Marchant (Marci) of Oregon City, Oregon and brother-in-law David Evers.
Three grandchildren, Harley and Libby Burgener and Tanner J. Myers all of Wamic, Oregon and in laws Vanesa Whitaker and Debi and Roger Polachek.
A celebration of life service with Military Funeral Honors will be held on Saturday, March 5, 2016 at 1:00 PM at the Barlow Gate Grange in Wamic.
