Hazel Rose Driver passed away on June 14, 2016 at the age of 94.
Hazel was born to Oscar and Rosa Mae Shiffer in Forest Grove, Ore., on October 21, 1921. She graduated from Forest Grove High School in 1939.
Hazel was a long time resident of Wasco County including Maupin, Wamic, and most recently The Dalles.
She had a diverse work history including owning and operating a cafe, swimsuit model for Jantzen, elevator operator for Lipman's department store, and bookkeeper for several companies in Portland and Wasco County. She had been active with the Wasco County fair and fair board.
She loved to hunt, fish,clam, crab, cook, quilt, collect antiques and travel.
She is survived by her four children; Linda Brandon, Donna Stoolman and husband Harley, James Richardson, and Sally Miller. Also surviving are her seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her brother Raleigh Shiffer in 1933, sister Gladys Yohey in 2001, sister Sylvia "Babe" Merrell in 2014 and husband Lyle Driver in 2008.
She loved life and was loved by all who knew her! She will be sorely missed. She has requested no funeral but a celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
