Funeral homes often submit obituaries as a service to the families they are assisting. However, we will be happy to accept obituaries from family members pending proper verification of the death.
Gerald was born in The Dalles to John E., and Joan K. Dyball, was raised on the small family farm in Mosier, Ore. The fourth child, he was often known to be the “little brother” to big brother Ken, and sisters Sheila and Sharon.
After graduation from Wahtonka High School, he worked for Diamond Fruit and a stint in the US Army, always wanting to drive a “tank.” He spent his life as a semi-truck driver, both over-the-road and many years with the US Mail. His special gift was as an animal whisperer to domestic and the wild critters.
Gerald married his wife, Mary in 1979. His true joy in life, his daughter Brandy was born. His step-daughter Michelle completed his family.
Jerry lost his brief battle with cancer at his home. He is survived by his wife Mary, daughter Brandy, and step-daughter Michelle. He is also survived by brother Kenneth, sisters Sheila and Sharon, and several nephews and nieces.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to the wonderful people of Heart of Hospice. A memorial graveside service will be held in early June.
